Do you bring your dog everywhere you go? Do you struggle to find dog friendly places to stay on road trips and vacations? If so, this blog is for you! I’ve done some digging and have found 27 different hotel chains and franchises that allow pets at most of their locations. Though these places usually allow pets, it is always a good idea to call ahead to confirm their pet policies and ensure you are prepared to follow the rules specific to each location.

Home2 Suites by Hilton
Home2 Suites is a mid-tier hotel designed for extended stays and travelers looking to maintain their normal routine. They have options for rooms with separate bedrooms and full kitchens. Many locations welcome 2 pets for an additional charge ranging from $75 - $150 per stay. However, not all locations are pet friendly, and weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Tru by Hilton
Another one of Hilton’s hotel chains, Tru has pet friendly locations that include designated pet relief areas on the property. They typically charge an additional fee of $35 - $50 per pet, per night and allow two pets 50 lbs or less. However, not all locations are pet friendly, and weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Hampton by Hilton
Not all Hampton hotels allow dogs but many locations that do, only charge $25 per pet, per night with some locations welcoming pets for free. They even offer dog treats at check-in and have ground level rooms that can be requested. Just like many other hotels, weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Canopy by Hilton
Canopy is one of Hilton’s boutique style hotel chains. They have a partnership with Barkbox so they gift their furry guests with a box of goodies including all-natural dog treats, a toy and a map of pet amenities in the area. The rooms also include dog beds and bowls to be used during your stay. The typical pet policy allows 2 pets under 75 lbs with a $50 charge per pet, per stay. However, weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
DoubleTree by Hilton
The DoubleTree has many pet friendly hotels that are happy to host your four legged friend. However, you will be required to pay a pet cleaning fee ranging from $50 - $75. Some locations also set weight limits on pets and some charge additional fees per pet, per night. You also need to call ahead to let them know that your pet will be staying with you; which you should do anyways when traveling with your dog. Check your specific location for more information because every property sets their own pet policies.
Courtyard by Marriott
Courtyard pet policies change depending on the location. However, they normally welcome two pets of any size for an additional cost ranging from a one time $50 fee to $50 per night. Not all locations are pet friendly, and weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Hyatt Place
For a one time fee of $75, 2 dogs with a combined weight of 75 lbs or less are welcome at the Hyatt Place for 1-6 nights. However, if you and your dog want to stay longer, the fee increases to $175. Not all locations are pet friendly, and weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Aloft
Aloft is a smaller, modern, hip hotel chain mostly found in bigger cities. Every location across this chain allows dogs up to 40 lbs free of charge. Not only do they allow them, but they also greet each pup with an Aloft branded bowl and bed as well as complementary toys and treats. Dogs are also allowed in common areas of the hotel. Some locations allow larger dogs with prior approval and the number of dogs permitted for free can differ by property.
To make it even sweeter, some Aloft locations partner with local rescues to house shelter dogs in hopes of getting them adopted. Guests can meet, play and even walk the shelter dogs. This allows the dogs to be socialized with both humans and other dogs in a controlled environment, giving them a better chance at getting adopted!
Residence Inn
The Residence Inn is another extended stay hotel. Most locations accept two pets 80 lbs or less for an additional fee of $100 per stay. However, not all locations are pet friendly, and weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Kimpton
Kimpton is another small hotel chain. They are known for their trendy, upscale, boutique atmospheres. All Kimpton locations welcome all pets for no additional fees and no limits on the number or size of any pet guest. They greet pets by name at check-in and offer other extras like beds, water bowls and poop bags to use during your stay. They also provide door signs to let staff know there are pets in a room. Kimpton provides guests with a list of nearby pet-friendly restaurants, shops, groomers and parks. Some locations even allow pets into their nightly wine events. Even with a hotel that accommodates pets so nicely, it is still a good idea to call ahead and let them know your pet will be joining you.
Fairfield Inn
The Fairfield Inn has pet-friendly properties that allow two pets of any size. Some locations charge pet fees up to $75 per night and weight restrictions differ by property. Some individual hotels offer puppy perks such as poop bags, treats and specific dog walking areas.
Homewood Suites
Homewood Suites typically welcome two pets up to 75 lbs for an extra charge of $75 for up to 4 nights and $125 for longer stays. However, not all locations are guaranteed to be pet friendly, and weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Westin
The Westin is well known for its upscale atmosphere and high end amenities. While being a luxury chain, many Westin locations allow 2 pets up to 40 lbs to stay for free or for an additional charge up to $150 per stay. Weight restrictions also may differ depending on the property.
Element by Westin
Element is a boutique styled hotel designed for extended stays. They have a program called “Love That Dog” which gives visiting pups special amenities for their stay such as a dog bed, food & water bowls, and poop bags. Pet friendly locations typically charge an additional $50 per night for 2 pets up to 40 lbs. However, weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Staybridge Suites
Staybridge Suites is a residential style hotel chain. For 2 pets to stay 7 nights or less, they charge a $75 fee and a $150 fee for longer stays. They offer door signs that read “Pet in Suite” and give out treats at check-in. However, weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Graduate
The Graduate is a smaller boutique styled hotel chain that showcases local collegiate culture of the area the hotel is in. They are very dog friendly, allowing 2 dogs up to 100 lbs for an additional fee of $35 per night. They have on-site dog parks and provide poop bags and treats at some locations. Drury
The Drury Inn & Suites, Drury Plaza Hotels and Pear Tree Inns are all Drury owned hotel chains and typically allow two cats or dogs with a combined weight of 80 lbs or less for an additional $40 per night. Some locations offer puppy perks like dog beds, bowls and treats. However, not all locations are pet friendly, and fees and weight restrictions may differ by property.
Loews
Loews is a smaller hotel chain but it is known as one of the leading luxury pet-friendly hotels in the world. They offer many dog amenities like treats, bowls, dog beds, leashes, and collars available upon request. Loews hotels even offers a gourmet room service option specifically for dogs and cats. Their policies typically allow two pets of any size for an additional charge ranging from $50 - $200 per stay. However, weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Hotel Indigo
Hotel Indigo has 130 locations and less than half of them are pet friendly. However, the ones that allow pets offer many amenities such as pet relief areas, treats, water bowls and have dog beds available for purchase. Their typical pet policy allows 2 dogs up to 80 lbs with an additional $75 fee per stay. Weight restrictions and fees may differ depending on the property.
Comfort Inn
The Comfort Inn does not roll out the red carpet for your pets like some other hotels. But, if you and your pup are looking for a place to crash for a reasonable price, the Comfort Inn could be your bread and butter. Most locations do require a pet fee of $35 per week and a $150 refundable pet deposit. There are also strong rules against having pets in the bed and common areas.
Best Western
Many Best Western locations allow 2 dogs under 80 lbs for an additional $30 per night, or $150 per week, and a refundable deposit of $150. They also allow pets other than dogs if you get prior approval. Some locations have designated dog walking areas, provide poop bags and give you recommendations on dog friendly establishments in the area. However, not all locations are pet friendly and weight restrictions and fees may differ by property.
La Quinta Inn & Suites
Not every room at La Quinta Inn’s are pet friendly but most locations have rooms designated for pet guests and their owners. They only allow dogs and cats under a certain weight (varies by location) and limit 2 pets per room for a $40 fee.
Four Seasons
Four Seasons is a Luxury hotel that has many pet friendly locations. Some properties even offer special pet room service menus, in house grooming services, complementary treats and doggie daycare options. There is typically no fee to have your dog stay with you but some services might cost extra.
Red Roof Inn
The Red Roof Inn generally welcomes one cat or dog for no additional cost but some locations may still charge a pet fee. You’ll also need to make sure your pup isn’t left alone in the room and must be taken out for a walk when the house keepers come to clean. You can check specific locations to find out if they charge a fee or have any other restrictions.
Motel 6
The Motel 6 allows two pets to stay for free as long as their combined weight is less than 150 lbs. Cats are welcome as long as you have a litter box for them. Pets are typically not allowed to be left unattended in a room, however if circumstances are unavoidable, some management teams might grant you permission to leave your pet for a short period of time as long as they are contained in a crate or travel carrier. It is also required that you call ahead and let them know your pet will be staying with you.
Virgin Hotels
Virgin hotels are winning the pet friendly game. They have no restrictions on breed or size of dogs and do not charge any additional pet fees or deposits. The hotel also provides beds, bowls and blankets for your pup to use during their stay. Your dog even gets a complementary bandana to take home as their very own souvenir!
